Dan is Simon’s best friend. He was rescued to come live with Simon so that Simon wouldn’t be alone. Horses can’t live alone; they’re herd animals and need to be with others of their own kind, just like humans! Dan is very small compared to Simon and he doesn’t like it one little bit.
